Norwich's Most Notable
There is lots to do in Norwich, so here is a list of places I have enjoyed going. Everything is accessible by bike, walking, or bus. No matter what you like doing, there is something for everyone. To see a full list of cool spots and things to do, check out my Google Maps list.
Norwich Market
Food, craft goods, gifts, flowers—they have it all. Each stall is an individual vendor. Founded in the 11th century and has been running for over 900 years, though it has gotten a makeover since then. I always swing by whenever I am in town to see what is going on. Open seven days a week!

Norwich Cathedral
Beautiful Romanesque cathedral built in 1101. This is the coolest piece of history in Norwich, in my opinion. I never cease to be blown away by how large this cathedral is and how beautiful the stained glass windows are. There are many rooms to look at around the main room and even a small staircase leading up to a silver display. The first time I went to the cathedral was with some of my international friends I had met earlier in the week. Seeing it from the inside was my first "oh wow" moment.

Norwich Castle
While there was a castle here in the 1100s, it is not the same one as it stands today. Norwich's castle was built in the 1800s and now serves as a museum. Its exhibits include medieval history, taxidermy displays, art, Egyptian history, and much more. Free to students and absolutely worth a visit.

St. Gregory's Antiques and Collectables
This is an antique mall inside an old church. Vendors rent out space and sell all sorts of fun things. It was neat to see an unused church repurposed in such a way. You can still enjoy the beauty of the building while shopping. My friend Violet and I stumbled across it on our way to a coffee shop to do homework. A hidden gem for sure.

The LCR
The LCR is UEA's on-campus club. They host all sorts of parties with varying music and themes. Tickets are not free to students but it has cheap drinks, and it is right on campus in the student union building. I still find it crazy that it is common to sell alcohol on campus, so attending a party here was definitely a culture shock. My flatmates really enjoy going here, so I figured I would add it for those who would enjoy an accessible, on-campus night out.

The Book Hive
Neat, little two-story book store. I went here with my flatmates and found a neat book with horror stories written in East Anglia.

Chantry Place
Large shopping center with several food options and stores. Notable stores include Apple, Boots, Flying Tiger, H&M, The HMV Shop, Hollister, Levi's, LUSH, Oliver Bonas, Sports Direct, Superdrug, Urban Outfitters, and ZARA. My personal favorite is the music and pop culture store The HMV Shop. Fun to look around and they have a large collection of vinyl, CDs, and DVDs.

The Sainsbury Centre
On-campus collection of ancient, modern, and contemporary art from across the world. My favorite part was walking around to see how old some of the art was. The building was featured as Avengers Headquarters in The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Free for everyone.

Afternoon Tea
There are many places to enjoy an afternoon tea in Norwich for all different budgets. When my parents came to visit, we went to The Maids Head Hotel and enjoyed afternoon tea there. The Assembly Hall is known for their fantastic afternoon tea service, though it is on the pricier end.

UEA Day Walks Society
This on-campus club is a great way to be active and explore Norfolk. They either walk from campus or take a coach to different locations. Affordable to join and you can go on as many trips as you'd like. Some locations they have done are the Felbrigg Circular Walk, Blakeney to Wells-next-the-sea, Marston Marsh, and Cromer Cliffs.

Castle Quarter
A small shopping center right next to the castle. On one side of the mall, the ceiling is made out of glass panels. The stores I enjoy here are Flying Tiger, Boots, Poundland, and T.K. Maxx. There is also bowling, putt-putt, and a battle bar.
